Michael R. Kletz, MD

Michael R. Kletz, MD is board certified in Allergy and Immunology.  He is also board certified in Internal Medicine.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Kletz graduated Magna Cum Laude with High Honors as a Henry Rutgers Scholar from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, NJ.  In addition, he was honored and voted a member of Phi Beta Kappa (ΦBK) and the International Foreign Language Honor Society – Phi Sigma Iota (ΦΣI).  Four years later, he received his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ.  He performed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland – University Hospitals in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Kletz then completed his fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – University Hospitals in Newark, NJ.  He has been trained in providing care to both children and adults and sees patients of all ages, from infancy to the elderly.

Dr. Michael R. Kletz has been listed in Washingtonian Magazine’s Top Doctors, Northern Virginia Magazine’s Top Doctors, U.S. News & World Report’s Top Doctors, Castle ConnollyTop Doctors: Washington-Baltimore, and Castle Connolly Top Doctors: Washington.  He has received the Patients’ Choice Award, the Compassionate Doctor Award, and the Virginia Physician’s Recognition Award.  Dr. Kletz has also served the community as an elected member to the House of Delegates for the Medical Society of the District of Columbia representing the Allergy Section.  He also served as an elected member of both the Board of Directors and the Executive Board of Directors for the American Lung Association of Northern Virginia.

Dr. Kletz is affiliated with numerous hospitals in both Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. and is a Clinical  Assistant Professor of Medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.  He enjoys educating other physicians in the community regarding the diagnosis and treatment of allergic conditions.  Dr. Kletz treats all facets of Allergy and Immunology and has a particular interest in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, asthma, sinus disease, and hives.
